If you have a nanogram of testosterone in your blood

You must go to the fights in Anaheim on July 19th. It has Fedor fucking Emelianenko. The guy is a god. In fact he is better than god. Once, when he was fighting in Japan, the yakuza tried to kill him by pushing him in front of a shinkansen (bullet train.) He died, but then when he got to heaven he went and arm-barred god and made god send him back to earth. This is a picture one of the angels took on his phone. It looks photoshopped, but thats how everything looks in heaven.

Ugh

My legs are incredibly sore. I'm trying to get on a sane schedule, so I woke myself up early. So I'm tired too.

I ordered a new digital camera for my trip. I wish it was here. I could have played with it. It is a Panasonic TZ5.

Instead I did all kinds of shitty paperwork. I was then too depressed and tired to go to AAR. Plus I don't feel like driving up to Irvine unless I have some other things to do.

I should go to bed now, but after feeling tired all day, I am now no longer tired. My heart is almost racing.

I decided to book a real hotel for my first two days in Tokyo. $160 a night. I just don't feel like coping with jet lag in a youth hostel. So, my first two days are planned, 18 more to go. Day three, I'll get on a train and go somewhere. Don't know where, but I'm thinking:

Tokyo
Sapporo
Shiretoko National Park
Sapporo
Mutsu
Yagen Valley
Osorezan
Mutsu
Hiroshima
Oosaka
Fukuoka Yamakasa festival is Jul 1-20 -- Maybe I'll go Jul 1-3
Tokyo for the last 4-5 days.

Now I need to figure out what is possible.

In progress... I think I'll try camping near hot springs in a couple places. Should be fun, and save some cash, while giving me an excuse to buy a nice sleeping bag. :)

bleh

Exhausting workout.

Exhausting interaction with UCLA financial aid office.

Horrible day.

I'm done feeling horrible. I'm letting it slide off, like water off a ducks ass.

Edit: Okay, so I checked one little box wrong on my FAFSA application, and it upped my expected contribution from zero to $20k+. I've figured out how to fix it now, but I have to wait a few days.

Yesterday

I had a pretty busy day yesterday, but I'm too tired to really describe it, so I'll do my best, and flesh it out later.

Recall that I finished my Brazilian jiu jitsu class at 9:30 Monday, and spent most of the class rolling with a 260lb greco wrestler. He was able to teach me some good things, but his closed guard was pretty tight and I woke up with my ribs hurting badly.

Still, I was not that tired overall, so I went to muay thai at noon. Well that class went fine until we split in to groups, and when it was my turn to work the bag, I threw a knee and then one of my partners said, "your knee is bleeding."

I got a tiny scrape the night before which opened, and a nearly comical amount of blood was pooring down my calf. So I had to stop and fortunately was able to stop the bleeding. I also got blisters on both big toes during this time.

So it took me about 30 minutes after the class finished at 1:15 just to drag my ass to the car.

Then I went over to Mitsuwa to the travel agency there, JTB. Actually I got some ramen first.

They had a direct flight on Korean Airlines at about $1080 plus 560 for the rail pass, so I bought it. That all took 2 hours, and then I headed to UCI. On the way I got a call from a friend, and we met at the pub.

Then we headed over to meet at the flagpoles. And from there headed out to Villa Park. The 55 was not so bad once I got to the car pool lane.

Met up with some more people. Not a huge contingent but there ended up being 15ish who spoke against the "In God We Trust" motion, and perhaps 3 in favor.

Of course the council was in favor, but they were a bit dumb struck by the response, and they came up with a "compromise" which I haven't the mental energy to describe at present.

After that, I talked 4 of the AAR people to come to Honda Ya with me and try all the unusual yakitori. We had a great time, some good food, and apparently some had a bit too much sake, because someone left their laptop in my car. I still don't know who, but I'm sure they shall present them self soon.

Anyhow, I'm sure l left a hundred things out, but I have a bunch of Boolean Algebra homework to do, and I'm really tired. I just wanted to put down the outline before I forget things. Aspects of the day were a bit dream-like, so memories may fade quickly.

Leaving the gym

The camera is not out of focus, I was actually blurry.

Hand wraps

I do a sort of Thai style wrap.
Start with a nice stack of folded wrap perhaps 8 layers thick and set it on top of your knuckles. Then go around the stack and under your palm. This is the trickiest part, you want it tight but tightening it moves the stack off your knuckles.

Then down around your wrist a couple times, then go up over the top and around your ring finger. Come back down the opposite side of your wrist. Then go up over the top between your index and middle, then back down over the top around the opposite side of your wrist.

Go around your wrist a couple times, then up around the knuckles once.

Back to the wrist, down well past the joint, then back to the joint and wrap until you secure the velcro.

I'm sure none of that made sense, but it helped fix it in my mind.

Also, sometimes I go around the middle finger too.

Hamstrung

In addition to my mental challenges, my hamstrings are tight as hell. I really need to stretch every day. Oddly, I can kick pretty high and hard. I think if I could resolve these hamstring issues, I'd have a hell of a headkick.

Dread

I was dreading Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tonight, and then I realized, I forgot my gym bag. Three cheers for forgetfulness!

Of course if I hadn't been so tired and sore last night, I probably would have put it in the car then, so I think my body is telling me I need a day off.

Oh well. The thing is, I'm thinking of going to Brazil this summer, and I'd like to have a little bit more skill so that maybe I can train a couple days in the gyms down in Rio.

My skill set right now...I'd just have a bunch of Brazilians choking me over and over, all the while laughing at the big Gringo (or whatever it is in Portuguese.)

Pristine leg hair

I feel like my shins are gonna snap at muay thai today, so I though I'd document them in original condition for insurance purposes.

MMA equipment

I've joined a gym in Irvine. Here is some of my gear, and some of the stuff I've ordered too. Oh, and my first battle wound. The first items was the most important, the NuttyBuddy. Well, I think you can guess the function from the name. Or, if you can't, it protects your testicles.

Then I got headgear and shin pads from Fairtex.

Finally, I got some shorts and rash guards from Cagewalk. I should point out that I'm not even allowed to spar yet, and I can barely make it through the cardio clasees. However, I want to get good stuff, and I'm a little suspicious that buying stuff at the gym has quite a markup.

I will add pictures of my gym on Monday.

Finally, bloggers WYSYWIG editor SUCKS!
